I am new here and hope this is a busy place. I love to chat about everything. I have 7 almost 8 grandkids ages 11.5 down to baby due in Jan. So I will have 4 boys and 4 girls. I babysit for my 23 mo old granddaughter 3 x a week. Does anyone else here do that?

Hi nanaB, I have one granddaughter that I babysat from the time she was born till she was four and a half. I still see her almost everyday.
What are your days babysitting like? I think it is so interesting to hear how nanas babysit. I am the second oldest of nine children. Connie

Hi Nana B, We presently have two Grand kids a girl and boy and one more on the way. My wife calls them 3,4,5,6, times a week where my son who is active duty Air Force is stationed in Vegas. We live on the small island of Guam. We do not get to see the grand kids but love hearing from them on phone or computer (messenger program with Cams), Nana & Papa Stanley (Sandra & Alan)

We have GF's grandkids (boy 4, girl 1) and the parents for dinner once a week, and usually take the kids, (often along with their step/half brother 11), for one day on the weekend. Also, since they only live four blocks away, I like to take the boys for a walk as often as possible, weather permitting. (We're in nothern MN!) I really miss the interaction if I go two or three days without seeing them.

Hello, I'm new as well. I really think this is a great site. I'm 61, have one daughter, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild, with two more on the way. Ages 4 to 26. Life is fun, because I work a day job selling commercial real estate and at night I write for our blog grammology. Can't babysit except on weekends, however, love it every time I can. Hello I am new to this site also. My grandson just turned one year old on Thanksgiving day! What a blast that was!! Pumpkin pie icecream birthday cake and pumpkin pie..not to mention turkey and all the trimmings! I am guessing that I am setting a family tradition, lol.
I babysit anytime I can I work forty plus hours a week, so it's hard and I feel bad that I miss so much.

Hi NanaB, I too am new to the site. We have one granddaughter who will be three in April. She and her mama, our daugther, lived with us for the first year of her life while her daddy was in Iraq. I work full time but my own mother babysat Hannah almost every day from the time she was a year old until they moved to Kansas last February. How wonderful that you get to see one of your grandkids so often! I miss those days. Grendy

Hello, I am new also, I have 7 also with number 8 coming, so far 5 girls and 2 boys, ages 2 yrs - 7 yrs old. I have custody of 1 of the boys. I'm 42, It's nice to chat with other grandparents.

Hello I am a soon to be grandparent . I have four children. My 23 year old daughter moved home recently and her baby is due jan. 29. Needless to say this is an exciting and slightly overwhelming time. So many rules have changed since I was having my babies in the 80's. Looking forward to learning from all you established grandparents, and growing with all you new grandparents to be :o) pam

hi nana B, i am ne too, have been on now for about 3 weeks. i have 4 wonderful grand children. 2 are boys connor 6yrs. and jimmy 9 yrs. they both live on new jersey and i live in florida so i don't get to see them but we communicate via the computer and phone whenever we can. i also have 2 teens here in florida amanda 15yrs. and chris 17yrs. they are great kids and bdcoming wonderful people. when they were little i baby sat for them quite often and now the are the babysitters! lol! anyway great to know we have a place where we can compare experiences and hopefully make new friends.

Boy, lots of new people here! Me I'm 42 with an almost 2 month old grandson (Cameron) and just got the news that my 23 year old daughter is almost 8 weeks pregnant! I'm too darn young for this! But, I just can't stop smiling. LOL. I take care of my grandson as often as I can. I work full time, so that isn't easy, but on the weekends I get first dibs!

I got the 6 yr old at 6 mos. and just got the 2 yr old and the 6 yr old is special needs w/ adhd, asthma, bi-polar and reactive attachment disorder, talk about a challenge WHEW!
