Me too! I'm just looking forward to spending all the time I can with the grands. Living so far away, we don't get to see them very often. This is a great opportunity.

We make Christmas about the "kids." With the hard economic times, Mommie recently lost her job, we try to plan fun activities every week.(Thanksgiving to Christmas Eve). We have three grand kids, 11, 9 and 7. Last week, each child made wreaths for the person of choice. Mommie and both grandma's got some really lovely wreaths to hang on their doors. Next week is pizza and drive to see all the christmas lights and decorations. This is our 4th year for viewing the lights and displays. Each child will again decide which gift they will buy and donate for other children so they can have a gift to open (their uncle is a fireman), my granddaughter who is 7 can't pass the "red bucket" without giving a little donation for someone in need. We have made it a point to make Christmas about giving as well as receiving. Christmas morning is fun, all get a game and we all have to play, grandpa too. Last year Grandpa taught each child to play checkers, something they have played all year long. Grandpa has taken a special interest this year in shopping for the gifts this year. That has been fun for me since I have always taken care of that task. We are really looking forward to Christmas day!!!

At three, my grandson is really experiencing the holiday this year! I love seeing his eyes light up when he turns on the tree or his curiosity when he checks the stockings every time he comes over! He is the light of my life .. and a joyous part of my Christmas season!

Until April I had one grandchild, an adorable little girl, she is 22 months today. But in April my son married a wonderful woman with 2 children who are now 4 and 2. And on Veteran's Day I was priviledged to watch the birth of my 4th grandchild, a precious little girl!!! So now I have 3 granddaughters and 1 grandson and so this is the 1st Christmas in our house that will be full of that little laughter only children can give you delight in. It is contagious. Grandpa and I have had so much fun shopping. My mom died 2 years ago and I have been having touble coming up with new traditions so right now would be a great time to come up with some! I would love for them to know the true meaning of Christmas, not just the presents, and have the spirit of giving, so I'm not sure what age to start the giving part. This is my first day on this site so I am sure I can find others to guide me on this journey!!

I am looking forward to seeing my grandchildren eyes when they see our tree and open their gifts. Their dad just got laid off so we are trying to make this Christmas no different then the ones they have had in the past. Family is important!

I am looking forward to spending Christmas with my daughter and family stationed at Ft. Rucker, Alabama and wishing that my other daughter, who is being deployed to Afghanistan, on or around December 15, would be there with us. We'll also take time to offer prayers for all other military families who have loved ones away serving our great country during this special time of the year.

I can't wait to spend Christmas with my Mom, children, and grandchildren. My son will be home from Afghanistan and it will be the first time in years that we all will be together! I like Ralphie waiting on his Red Ryder BB gun. I just can't wait!!!!

This season is my finest..I start thinking about the holidays around Halloween. How much we'll decorate the house, how many family dinners and get together s' and what we'll give as gifts. This year will be different as most of my family and friends have decided to buy less and do more as family and friends. Suits me well as the holidays are a time for giving thanks and sharing life and feelings not worrying so much about what you purchase.. I 'm blessed to have the gift of life as one year ago December 21; I began my journey with Ovarian Cancer..I'm 62 and it was my second time as I'd had breast cancer in 05..Even though I have stage 3-b; I'm still here less hair and a lot of new experience with chemo etc... I'm grateful and happy to be planning what I'll be doing this Christmas... and wishing all of you good health and hoping you can be with all your family and friends and recognize nothing is better then being close to those you love.. Happy holidays to all. Dorothy from grammology http://grammology.com

I love the last Sunday before Christmas, because that's when I hand out the homemade goodies and hand-sewn ornaments I've been working on for months. My (now grown) kids and my grandkids are always excited to see what I've made for their Christmas trees; and they can't wait to dive into the homemade chocolates and cakes!
