Time Alone with Baby

I am a first time mom, with a beautiful little girl that my husband and I adore. We had the interesting fortune of creating two sets of first time grandparents - DH's parents, and mine.

I am trying hard to understand the almost obsessive interest our parents have suddenly developed now that they are grands. So far my biggest question mark comes from the desire for "alone time" with our daughter. (More Inside)

Does just looking at your grandchild (children) bring tears of joy to your eyes?

Demetri is my first grandchild. He is 9 months old, I sometimes just look at the wonder of him at how perfect he is and how much joy he brings me and I get all teary eyed.
He could just be sitting there doing nothing, and I just well up.
Anyone else get this over emotional?

Gestational Diabetis

A new hitch, concerned, but just monitoring for now. Daughter is testing 4 times a day, once in the morning (fasting) then once 2 hours after ever meal. Daytime sugar levels are terrific, but night after dinner is a bit worrying.

Last night after dinner we tried walking, thinking excercise might help motablize, yep same Turkey Sandwich and yes after two 15 minute walks before testing was drama (More Inside)

We have been alienated from seeing our grandchildren by our son & daughter-in-law

Hi,
I am new in this forum. My husband & I do not know where to turn, so we are hoping for some advice. About 5 weeks ago our son sent an e-mail telling us that they do not want us in their lives anymore. Honestly, as crazy as it sounds, we do not understand how or why this happened. He has been married now for over 15 years, and we have always walked on egg shells around our daughter-in-law. (More Inside)

Christmas present suggestons.

I wish there was a place to go and enter their sports, hobbies, plus age and get suggestions for gifs. I tried Gifts.com but they only have question such as sports or reading a book, passing a note in class or getting with study groups these lead to answers that were not right at all.

Single Grandmother Raising Grands

It was hard raising my grandchildren by myself, and I know others who do it with less money and more kids. I'm not perfect, and they began to find out when they turned 8 and 14, girl and boy respectively. My wonderful granddaughter is in college living in a dorm. That was hard too. Sometimes they really don't understand about deadlines, great essays, and grandma has no money for college so fin (More Inside)

monsters under the bed

My grandson is 5 and is afraid of the dark. He woke up one night in tears and finally told me that he was afraid of the monsters under the bed. I assured him that there isn't any such thing as monsters and especially not under grandma's bed. The only thing that may be under my bed is dust bunnies. Of course the next question, what are dust bunnies? So, I proceeded to explain to this precious littl (More Inside)
